Why is it in beauty pageants beauty contests wear so much make up?

why do beauty contestants in beauty pageants wear spend hours putting on make up? Also why does it seem like every year Miss Universe is always from this planet?

1. So they could hide the ugly.2. Because Earthlings run the Miss Universe pageant and are very prejudice against non-humans. lol

if they did not wear make up it would have to be called the ugly pageant . and the other planets never put a contestant in the race so we win by default. lol
