Yes it hurts a bit, but its more annoying waiting for it to heal because your tongue usually swells.Its worth it though, different pain for different people.It doesnt heal in a week, it takes around a month maybe.

worst pain ever for a piercing.....after three weeks i took it out and let it heal closed....beside the pain you run the risk of breaking your teeth...dont do it

i got one a few years ago. my tongue swelled to about 3 times it normal size.it was very painful and i couldn't eat and drink properly. i put up with it for about 4 days but then gave in and took it out. I'm glad i did now.
