You should be alright taking food in your checked lugage. You can not take it in your hand held luggage. The best bet it to check with the airlines and also customs in the country you are going to.Why would you want to take food to Greece? They have rice and pasta, pasta is usually homemade.

You can take foods like rice and pasta in quantities that would be used by you. You cannot take fresh fruits or veggies that might convey insects to the island. (At least you couldn't when I went.) Check out the State Department's travel site for more info:http://www.travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1127.html

Yes cereal is worth taking as it is expensive to buy in Greece, rice and paste is cheap so it's not worth taking that with you buy just buy it across there.

are you afraid to eat the food there or just want to bring some? They have the best food in Greece so if that is the reason, leave it home and try some culture.
