Default I have coppered coloured hair and my hair dresser told me I couldn't bleach it, is

this true? I recently got my hair dyed black, I wanted a blue streak but when I told the hair dresser she said that because of the copper components I have in my natural hair color that it would be impossible to bleach my hair so she could put the blue in, is this in any way true?

You'll turn out a bright apricot. Any natural red tones are the worst thing ever to try to bleach.

Not true at all. ANY hair color can be bleached. Either she has no clue what she is doing or she just didn't want to do the extra work. Trust me, some hairdressers will make up all sorts of crap to get out of extra work.

No, it's not true. A good colorist would be able to do it.

Sadly your hairdresser is telling the truth. I have very very bright orange/copper hair, and when I bleached it it turned yellow. But do not despair!!! Go to a beauty shop (like Sally's Beauty Store) and they have bags of stuff that look like blue powder, buy it and use it! What it does is neutralizes the yellow! Don't ask me how, but it works. My hair went from yellow to white in just 2 applications!!!!YAY!!!
