absolutely! 15 to 20 percent, which seems like a lot as the hair cut/weave/whatever already costs a small fortune but yes, they do expect a tip.

Yes. Just like you would tip a waitress. Your tipping them for giving you a good service. It's probably also greatly appreciated by the hair stylist. From what I hear you tip 15-20% of your bill. Although I never asked a hair dresser what the "going rate" is

I do only a couple of dollars though. Also because I have really thick hair and it takes forever to cut, and stuff. But honestly you dont have too.
