Why would someone leave a gift box of assorted perfume bottles outside their

front door for over 8 months? My parents' next door neighbours have a opened box of a selection of perfume bottles propped up by their front door. It has been there since the new year and my parents are too embarassed to ask even though they're wondering too. Their neighbours are a little strange but I'm intrigued and every time I go there I look at this selection of perfume bottles as though they're on display. Strange! Any ideas??

Another guess at that riddle...maybe it is from a person that they absolutely cut off with relations and instead of tossing it away, placed it outside the front door. It would have to be from someone who sees it. That would be the ultimate insult to injury. Not a healthy way to practice your feelings.

I think they are making a statement to whomever brought them the gift that they do not want it. They sound very strange and very stubborn!

Are you sure your neighbours are still alive? Eight months does seem a long time to be going in and out past the box without tripping over it or one of their family or relatives asking what is with the box at the front door? You must also live in a very safe neighbourhood as no one has stolen them yet or they aren't worth anything.
