Stop to think how you would feel if you lost your goodies and think how you'd feel when someone returned them.I saw a sign the other day: "I found your jacket, green men's jacket, call xxxxx". Actually it wasn't one sign. There were 10 of them on lampposts around where, apparently, this jacket was found, so the owner could not miss it.Someone went through the trouble of putting up 10 signs to return somebody's property. What's the lesson in that?First, it's good for the owner.Second, it probably makes the finder feel good about himself - and well-deserved.Third: It's a message to anyone passing by that spot: There are people who find something and don't take it as their own. That message stuck in my mind - as I'm sure it has in others.I say all of that is worth more than someone's shopping.
