Sealable plastic containers, or use plastic wrap or aluminum foil tightly over open containers. Try the dollar store for inexpensive plastic containers.Just keep air from contacting the foods, because the odors are carried by air.As said above, keeping the refrigerator cold will reduce cross contamination of odors as well, but not eliminate it. An open container of baking soda works well, too, but still is no substitute for keep foods covered and out of contact with air.
