If you want to become a Fashion designer, then I suggest instead of going to college and studying art, you should go to a college that specialises in art and study Fashion design, fashion design and manufacturing etc. With the qualifications it wll be a lot easier to find and do an intern-ship, and some colleges even offer guaranteed placements at various places after studying there. You could go on to working for various designers, or even just designing for retail outlets, such as H&M and TopShop.Keep in mind to do this you will need to get good grades in both Art and English especially, and make a portfolio. Most importantly you've got to be good at sewing and would start making clothes now.You also said that you would like to work as an intern at Vogue, Elle etc. I'm going to tell you now, that this would not be the kind of intern you would want to do if you want to be a Fashion designer. They would not have opportunities for you to design clothes. However, you may want to study fashion journalism, fashion photography or even styling at college, and these courses would be what hi fashion magazine would want to see when picking an intern. This is aming very high, but don't get your hopes up (:Oh and I think you would have to move if you wanted to go to a good fashion institute.
