Are designer labels for the rich and stupid?

Obviously rich people can afford designer clothing but so many people can not afford them really yet still continue to buy these labels.

Yes they are. There's no real reason to pay for a label. All that really matters is if you look good right? So why care?

No they are for the trendy conformists who feel they need to wear name brand clothes so people think they are of a higher social class than they really are.....

Status symbols. They seem to appeal to those who can easily afford them and those who really can't, while many of those in the middle don't give a damn.

The really expensive ones yeah. The other day I walked into this store and even the t-shirts where 60$. I quickly walked out because at those kind of prices they probably even charge you for the air you breath in the store.
