I would always suggest bringing a snack. From a husband's point of view, it can be really long and the last thing you want is him leaving to go to the cafeteria to get himself or you something to eat. This way, he has no excuse to leave your side throughout the whole thing.

Not really, except my breastpads. The hospital gives you just about all you need. I would take a few extra changes of clothes for you and the baby though, and some burp rags came in handy too. Jennifer

Nothing! I went into pre-term labor at 35 weeks and had to be flown out to a university hospital in my homestate (1 1/2 hours away from where i live) so i didn't have anything with me.My mom brought things to me or she went out in the city i was in and bought things for me.Pack now cause you might not get a chance too like i didn't.

We brought way too much stuff really. We brought all kinds of soothing things to help with labor...which not many worked well....none really.Just bring clean clothes to go home with, pads, baby clothes to take home. I found chapstick, hair brush, shampoo and clean socks useful. I wouldnt go too crazy...just bring the essentials.

Bring some sort of munchies.. hospital food sucks and in between meals you'll have nothing if you dont bring something. Also if you dont want to drink just water bring change for a vending machine to get soda or whatever else you want to drink. I would bring your own pads extra long heavy the hospital ones are cheap and annoying.
