To Stansted Airport cufty mcdade 09-03-2007, 11:00 PM If they were over water at the time i`d say your chances are pretty slim, anyway your stuff would be ruined by seawater. nontarzaniccaulkhead 09-03-2007, 11:59 PM First, contact the airline in question, always assuming that you haven't done so. Give as many details as you can.You may be able to claim on your travel insurance. wilfred b 09-04-2007, 01:28 AM well one thing for sure you cannot look for it the reason being it was in all certainty lost airside and you would require secutiy clearance to go looking there .you fill in the lost suitcase form at the airport and that is about all you can do if the airline find it you will get it sent to you by courier normally. if after a certain lenght of time it as not turned up the airline should compensate you. but do not expect the value of the goods under international law you are only entitled to a fixed amount for each item of luggage lost I believe it is £75 but this may have been raised but that is what it used to be.if you claim on your travel insurance the insurance company will deduct this figure from your settllement plus what excess that needs to be applied, even if the airline dont even pay you compensationtake no notice of CJ the airlines only pay what they are required by the warsaw convention so making out worse than it is wont get you any more compo |
