being attracted to feet and being sexually aroused by them is a fetish. a fetish defined is a sexual attraction to materials or objects or parts of a person that are in and of themselves, unrelated to sex. fetishism is relative though, meaning that many years ago ankles were considered sexy and arousing to look at where as now its cleavage or something...a 'fetish' can be socially constructed at times. but more specifically, many believe that fetishes are a result of prior traumatic experinces (most likely in childhood when we are most impressionable). for example, a child may have a mother who wears strappy high heels when exchanging sex for money or when kicking him as punishment (extreme cases of course) - those kinds of experiences lead to a warped perception of what love and sex is and can imprint those wrong ideas into a childs mind and as the child grows up the connection is changed and expressed in sexual ways.this isn't always the case of course, things like heredity and environmental factors and influences and specific experiences could also play a part...but when we're talking about serious fetishes that is the general idea.
